Where does swimming pool construction really begin
Most pool projects start the same way — and the same wrong way.
First, they choose the shape and design, usually because it looked good on Pinterest. Then, a contractor gets involved, immediately calculating the basin, equipment, and estimate. Only after this, when money has already been spent and technical solutions laid out, do the questions begin: why is the water unstable, why is the filtration failing, why are maintenance costs higher than expected?
The problem is that in most cases, a pool is perceived as a construction object, while in reality, it is an engineered system that works with water. And water dictates the rules of the game.
Any project with us does not begin with the shape or the equipment. The first step is water analysis.
This is fundamental.
Local water determines almost everything: what chemical processes will occur, how quickly equipment will wear out, what reagents will need to be used, and how stable the system will be overall. Hardness, iron content, manganese, pH level, alkalinity — these are basic data without which it is impossible to make correct engineering decisions.
It is based on water analysis that we determine whether preliminary water treatment is needed, which filtration system to install, and what materials and equipment will withstand the current conditions. Without this stage, any design is an assumption, and assumptions in pools always turn into expenses.
After water, we analyze the site itself, as it affects the pool's construction and durability.
Soil type, groundwater level, elevation changes, drainage, location relative to the sun and wind — these factors determine how the project will be implemented. Incorrectly considered soil or lack of drainage can lead to deformations, waterproofing problems, and costly repairs in the future.
We always separately consider the pool's placement in space. Because there are solutions that look effective in pictures but in reality create constant problems. A classic example is a pool under trees. Visually it's beautiful, but in practice, it means constant leaves in the water, an overloaded filtration system, and significantly higher maintenance costs. We fundamentally do not include such solutions, even if the client likes them, because we do not want to sign you up for a daily battle with the pool.
Once we understand what water we are working with and under what conditions the pool will be located, the next key question is how it will be used.
Not "for myself," not "for the family," but specifically: how many people will use the pool at once, what is the intensity of the load throughout the day, is it for private use, or is commercial use planned, are there additional zones like SPA or hydromassage.
The number of users directly affects the calculation of filtration and chemical dosing. This is not a recommendation — it is the basis of design. A pool for a few people and a pool with a constant flow of users are different systems, even if they look the same.
Only after these stages does full-fledged design begin, where all decisions are not accidental but justified. Equipment is selected that corresponds to the actual load and conditions, circulation is calculated taking into account volume and mode of use, and solutions are implemented that ensure water stability, not a temporary effect.
This is the approach we use in large commercial projects and private households, and it is precisely what allows us to achieve a predictable result, rather than constant "corrections" after launch.
Pool construction is not just about a beautiful object, but also about a stable system for many years. And this stability is laid down at the stage of the approach to construction.
