Sealant Griffon AquaMAX 425 g (grey) — SMP adhesive-sealant for pools and ponds (12 pcs per pack)

Griffon AquaMAX is a water-resistant adhesive-sealant based on solvent-free SMP polymers for bonding, assembling, and sealing almost all materials in pool and pond construction. It can be applied on wet surfaces and underwater. Resistant to chlorine, salt water, UV radiation, and mold. Working temperature range from -40°C to +100°C.

Advantages

  • resistance to chlorine, salt water, UV radiation, and mold;
  • can be applied on wet surfaces and underwater;
  • solvent-free – safe for pools and ponds;
  • high elasticity and ultimate strength;
  • no shrinkage after drying;
  • good joint and crack filling ability;
  • no primer needed before application;
  • working temperature range from -40°C to +100°C.

Application

  • surfaces must be clean and degreased (can be wet);
  • ambient and material temperature — not lower than +5°C;
  • apply with a cartridge gun, level with a rubber mallet;
  • store in a dry place in a closed package from +5°C to +25°C;
  • minimum shelf life after opening — 8 months.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does AquaMAX differ from regular silicone sealant?

AquaMAX, based on SMP polymers, has significantly better adhesion to most materials than standard silicone, does not contain acetic acid, and does not damage metals. Unlike silicone, AquaMAX can be painted after drying, does not yellow over time, and better withstands prolonged contact with chlorinated and salt water.

Can sealant be used for installing skimmers and fittings in a pool?

Yes. AquaMAX is ideal for sealing skimmers, edges, tiles, gutters, and pool drains. Its resistance to chlorine and salt water, as well as its ability to be applied on wet surfaces and underwater, makes it an optimal choice for pool construction and maintenance.

How long does it take to dry completely?

Initial adhesion time and strength gain depend on temperature and humidity. Under standard conditions (+20°C, relative humidity 50%), a surface film forms within a few minutes. Full strength is achieved within 24–72 hours. At low temperatures or humidity, drying time increases.
